The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo
The Q Revo is a great option if you're looking to buy a mid-range mop and robot vacuum. It gives a great mopping experience but lacks the advanced features of its more expensive sibling.
During testing it was able to handle dust and dry oats on carpets of medium pile and pet hair on hard floors. However, unlike other models, it doesn't utilize LIDAR to help you map your home.
1. iRobot Roomba S9+
The iRobot Roomba S9+ robot vacuum is one of the top-rated robots. It is a powerful cleaner and a variety of features that include an automatic dirt bin built into its charging base. This robot can learn your habits of cleaning, and suggest automatic schedules to give you an effortless cleaning experience.
Setup is easy, thanks to the iRobot Home app that walks you through the process. Once everything is connected, you can start the automated cleaning functions with the click of one button. You can choose the general clean option, which prioritizes the removal of larger debris such as rice and cereal. Or you can choose two mappings to ensure that your entire home is thoroughly cleaned.
This robot vacuum performs well on both floors with no carpet and carpets with a low pile. It can pick up pet hair and clean large items up. It doesn't lose suction as fast as some other robot vacuums. It has a difficult time with plush or high-pile carpet, but iRobot claims it will get better with the next models.
The S9+ features a new design from iRobot that concentrates on enhancing edge and corner cleaning. It's the first Roomba to adopt a flat-fronted, D-shaped design, which will allow it to fit into furniture and walls. It's a nice improvement over the standard hockey puck shape of the majority of robovacs. However, we discovered it to be only incrementally better than circular models.
iRobot also claims that the S9+ comes with an improved filtering system that stops microscopic dust particles and allergens from recirculating throughout your home. It's a nice claim, however, we're not convinced it's enough to justify the high price price.
Its smart navigation system utilizes sensors to remember the layout of your home and vSLAM for mapping the interior of your home. This allows it to steer clear of obstacles, like stairs and other barriers and to tidy up your whole home in the most efficient manner possible. The iRobot Home app lets you control the robot and set cleaning times, and set up virtual boundary markers, so that it is aware of areas that require more attention.
2. Roborock Q Revo
Roborock Q Revo is a robot that is a combination of mopping and vacuuming. Its vacuum settings are as efficient as those found on more expensive models, and its mopping system is superior, as its spinning pads do a better job of cleaning your floors than a stationary vibrating pad.
The only drawback is the lack of a second brush to allow for more thorough cleaning. However, it's not a big deal when you're looking to purchase one of the best robots available. The dust tank on the robo-vac is larger than many of its competitors, and filling it takes just two or three times, even when you have maximum dirt.
As for the mopping system, I was awestruck by its ability to scrub tough dirt off my floors. The two mopping modes that it has, which are less aggressive than the high-powered ones, generate little noise, allowing you to work or watch television without interruption. It will gently bump into furniture or walls, and then move on if it comes across one.
The Q Revo is unique in that it can run almost entirely on its own, requiring only minimal user involvement. The dock of the robo-vac is multifunctional and automatically transfers trash into a hidden bin. It also washes, dries and refills the clean water tank. The app is capable of notifying you when something requires attention, such as the water tank being empty or a scheduled cleaning session being cancelled due to a stuffed dust bin.
You can also create or combine actual rooms in order to personalize the way Q Revo manages your home. This feature is useful if you have different flooring in different areas of your house or when you have to frequently get rid of clutter like clothes, toys, and books. The robo-vac is also efficient and was one of the top performers in my tests, picking up debris from carpets as well as hardwoods on the first pass. It is able to vacuum up wet spills. I recommend drying the area with a towel prior to sending it in.
3. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni
The X2 Omni has all of the features you'd want from a premium robot vacuum and mop combo and more. Similar to the iRobot Roomba S9+, it comes with a powerful vacuum with a powerful suction to clean carpets and hard floors, as well as the mop's rotating design that can scrub tough staining. It also comes with a self-cleaning station that automatically washes and cleans the mop pads to keep them clean and ready to be reused. It also comes with a brand new sensor system that better detects obstacles, granting it the ability to avoid falling over furniture or other objects.
The biggest improvement over the ECOVACS X1 Deebot is its modern, sleeker design. This is due to the Danish company Jacob Jensen Design, best known for their Bang & Olufsen product line. Although it's still quite large--it's more than two feet high and deep and weighs almost four pounds--the entire robot and its base are less bulky than the Roborock Q Revo or iRobot J7.
This version is more efficient than the X1 since it charges faster and can clean up 1,500 square feet in a single charge. And it has a larger dustbin that is more durable and can hold more debris and is easier to empty when needed.
Lastly it is worth noting that the X2 Omni has a more intuitive app and voice assistant that operates offline, allowing you to manage it even when away from home. It also comes with a smart routing feature that lets it clean specific areas or rooms of your home instead of following a predetermined route.
The Omni X2 Omni is the most effective mopping performance of any robot we've tested because of its mop pads rotating to scrub away tough stains and a motor that produces plenty of downward pressure. The vacuuming capabilities are also top-notch, and it boosts suction when it senses carpets to ensure thorough cleaning. It comes with a huge, rechargeable battery that can last up to a week. The mopping feature of the robot is also powerful.
4. Dreametech L10s Ultra
The Dreametech L10s Ultra is a top-quality mop and robot vacuum that comes with a host of features that you don't often see on robots at this price. It has the ability to create detailed floor maps, identify different flooring types, and it's one of the few robots that automatically wash and dry its mop pads. These are nice features, but they also push the L10s into the class of luxury. This could mean it's more expensive than what homeowners would need.
The L10s Ultra looks like a modern floor cleaning machine. It is slim and tall with a white finish that is complemented by silver elements and mirror plating. The front of the machine is dominated by a huge bumper, which helps protect furniture and vacuum cleaners from damage while moving through the house. In the pane in the front is additional navigation technology that is comprised of sensors that aid the L10s Ultra maneuver tight corners and avoid obstacles.
On the top, there's one button that basically is a switch for on and off. The button will activate the vacuum. If you click it again, it website will turn it off and send it to its base station. The control panel includes the circular menu which lets you choose cleaning modes, schedules, and preferences. The left and right buttons open the app's settings which allow you to customize how the L10s Ultra interacts with your home.
Like the iRobot Roomba S9+ and Roborock Q Revo, the L10s Ultra uses a combination of LIDAR and camera-based navigation technologies to help you map out your home. This creates a precise floor plan that enables the robot vacuum and mop with ease and avoid getting stuck in messy areas. The LIDAR also helps the robot vacuum to recognize and avoid obstacles and obstacles, which is a wonderful feature for families with pets or children.
The L10s Ultra offers solid vacuuming performance that clears 98.4% of debris from our hardwood floor test and taking out all but the most difficult juice stain. Its mops also do a great job and remove 98.4% debris from our tile, carpet, and wood tests. It wasn't as effective in removing sand from the hard floor or quaker oats from the carpet.
