The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo
The Q Revo is an excellent option for those looking for an affordable robot vacuum and mop. It offers a great mopping experience but lacks the features that make up its more expensive counterpart.
In the course of testing, it was able to handle dry oats and dust on carpets with medium piles as well as pet hair on hard flooring. However, like cheaper models, it doesn't employ LIDAR to determine the layout of your home.
1. Roomba S9+ from iRobot
The iRobot Roomba S9+ is one of the most highly-rated robot vacuums. It is a powerful cleaner and plenty of features that include a self-emptying dirt compartment built into its charging base. This robot can also learn your habits of cleaning and suggest automated schedules to ensure you have a hands-free experience.
The iRobot Home App guides you through the process of setting up. Once everything is connected, you can begin the automated cleaning process at the touch of the button. You can choose the general clean option, which prioritizes the removal of larger debris such as cereal and rice. Or you can choose two mappings to ensure that your home is completely cleaned.
This robot vacuum performs well both on bare floors and carpets with a low pile. It can take in large objects and doesn't lose suction as rapidly as some others do and can remove pet hair with ease. It's not able to work with carpets that are high-pile or plush however, iRobot says that future models will be better.
The S9+ features a new design from iRobot, which concentrates on enhancing edge and corner cleaning. It's the first Roomba to adopt an open-fronted, flat-fronted design, which it hopes will allow it to hug walls and furniture. It's a significant improvement over hockey puck-shaped robovacs that are common, but we found it to be only marginally better than circular models.
iRobot also claims the S9+ has an advanced filtering system that stops tiny dust particles and allergens from recirculating in your home. It's a nice claim, however, we're not convinced that it's enough to justify the premium price cost.
Its smart navigation system uses a combination of sensors to remember the layout of your home and vSLAM technology to map the interior. This allows it to steer clear of obstacles, such as stairs and other barriers and to tidy up your entire house in the most efficient manner possible. The iRobot Home App allows you to schedule cleaning times and create virtual boundary markers so that the robot can determine which areas need extra attention.
2. Roborock Q Revo
When it comes to robots that combine vacuuming and mopping the Roborock Q Revo stands out. Its vac settings are just as efficient as those found on more expensive models, and its mopping system is even better. Its spinning pads do a better job of scrubbing your floors than a stationary vibration pad.
It's only downside is the lack of a second brush for deeper cleaning. However, that's not a big deal if you want to own one of the top robots available. The robo-vac's dust tank is also larger than many of its competitors, and it takes just two or three cycles to fill it up, even with the maximum dirt level.
In terms of the mopping device, I was impressed with its ability to scrub off hard-to-clean dirt from my floors. Its two lowest mopping modes that are less abrasive than the high-powered ones, create very little noise, which allows you to work or watch television without interruption. It will gently hit furniture or walls and then move away whenever it comes across one.
The Q Revo is unique in that it can run almost completely on its own, with no user involvement. The robo-vac has a multifunction dock that can automatically transfer physical trash into the bin hidden from view and cleans and drys the mop pads, and refills its clean water tank. The app will only alert you when something is not right, such as the water tank being empty or a cancelled vacuuming session due to the bin being full.
You can also create and merge actual rooms to customize the way that Q Revo will treat your home. This feature is beneficial when you have different flooring in different areas of your home or when you have to frequently clear out clutter such as toys, clothes and books. The robot vacuum was also among the best performers in my tests cleaning up debris from both carpets as well as hardwood floors in the first pass. It is able to even clean up spills that are wet, though I recommend wiping them dry using a clean cloth before bringing the robot in.
3. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni
The X2 Omni has all of the features you'd want from a top-quality robot vacuum and mop combo and more. Like the iRobot Roomba S9+, it has an excellent vacuum that has a powerful suction that cleans carpets and hard floors, and a rotating mop that scrubs tough staining. It also comes with self-cleaning bases that automatically empty and cleans the mop pads, ensuring that they remain them germ-free and ready for use again. It also has a sensor system that recognizes obstacles better, allowing it to avoid falling onto furniture and other objects.
The biggest difference over the ECOVACS Deebot X1 is that it is sleeker and more modern design due to Danish firm Jacob Jensen Design (best known for its Bang & Olufsen products). The robot is still big. It measures over two feet in height and depth and weighs nearly four pounds. sweep and mop robot However, the robot and its base are smaller than the Roborock Q Revo and iRobot J7.
This version is more efficient than the X1 since it charges faster and can clean up 1,500 square feet in one charge. It also has a larger and more durable dustbin that can hold more debris. This makes it easier to empty.
Additionally lastly, the X2 Omni has a more intuitive app and voice assistant that operates offline, allowing you to control it even when you're away from home. It also has a smart routing feature that allows it to clean specific rooms or areas of your home, instead of following a predetermined path.
The X2 Omni is the top mopping robot. Its mop pads that rotate clean tough stains and its motor generates lots of downward pressure. Its vacuuming capabilities are excellent too and it increases suction when it senses carpet to ensure it does a thorough job. It also has a large battery that can last for weeks between charges, and its mopping mode is as powerful as the ones we've seen on an ordinary robot.
4. Dreametech L10s Ultra
The Dreametech L10s Ultra is a high-end mop and vacuum robot that comes with a range of features that you aren't likely to find on robots of this price range. It can create detailed floor maps and identify different types of flooring. It's also one of the few robots that can automatically clean and dry its mop pad. Although these features are useful but they also put the L10s Ultra in the category of luxury which could make it a little more expensive than what some homeowners need.
The L10s Ultra looks like a modern floor cleaner. It is tall and slim, with a white finish, accentuated by silver elements and mirror plating. The front of the machine features a large bumper that protects the vacuum cleaner and furniture while moving around your home. In the pane in the front is additional navigation technology that is comprised of sensors that aid the L10s Ultra navigate tight corners and avoid obstacles.
On the top, there's one button that basically is a switch for on and off. The button will activate the vacuum. If you click it again, it will turn it off and transmit it to its base station. The control panel includes an oblique menu that lets you choose cleaning modes as well as schedules and preferences. The left and right buttons will open the settings of the app which allow you to customize how the L10s Ultra interacts with your home.
The L10s Ultra, like the iRobot Roomba S9+ or Roborock Q Revo uses a combination of LIDAR and cameras-based navigation technology to map your home. The L10s Ultra is an efficient vacuum cleaner, which removes 98.4 percent of the debris we test on hard floors and removing all but stubborn juice staining. The mops also work well in removing 98.4 percent of the debris from our tile, carpet, and wood tests. However, it wasn't quite as efficient in dealing with sand on the floor or the quaker oats that are on carpet.
