The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo
The Q Revo is a good choice if you're looking for an affordable robot vacuum and mop. It's got a fantastic mopping capabilities, but is lacking some of the advanced features found in its more expensive counterpart.
During testing it was able to handle dry oats and dust on medium-pile carpet as well as pet hair on hard flooring. However, like cheaper models, it doesn't employ LIDAR to determine the layout of your home.
1. iRobot Roomba S9+
The iRobot Roomba S9+ is one of the most highly-rated robot vacuums. It has impressive cleaning power and a variety of features that include a self-emptying dirt compartment built into its charging base. This robot can also learn your cleaning habits and suggest automatic schedules for a truly hands-free experience.
It's easy to set up thanks to the iRobot Home app that walks you through the procedure. Once the system is in place, you can start automated cleaning with a single button press. You can choose the general clean option, which prioritizes the removal of larger debris such as rice and cereal. Or you can opt for two thorough mappings to ensure that your home is completely cleaned.
This robot vac performs well on both bare floors and low-pile carpet. It can pick up pet hair and also suck large items up. It doesn't lose suction as fast as some other robot vacuums. It's not the best time with high-pile or plush carpet, however iRobot says it will get better with the next models.
The S9+ features a new design from iRobot, which is focused on enhancing edge and corner cleaning. It's the first Roomba to adopt a flat-fronted D-shaped design, which will allow it to be able to swaddle walls and furniture. It's a significant improvement over hockey puck-shaped robovacs which are common however we found it only marginally better than circular models.
iRobot also claims that the S9+ comes with a superior filter system that prevents microscopic dust particles and allergens from circulating in your home. It's a nice claim however, we're not convinced that it's enough to justify the high price tag.
Its smart navigation system utilizes sensors to store the arrangement of your home and vSLAM to map the interior. This allows it to stay clear of obstacles like staircases and other barriers, and also to clean your whole home in the most efficient manner possible. The iRobot Home App allows you to schedule cleaning times and also set virtual boundaries so that the robot knows what areas require extra attention.
2. Roborock Q Revo
Roborock Q Revo is a robot that combines mopping and vacuuming. Its vac settings are just as efficient as those found on higher-end models and its mopping feature is better still--its spinning pads do a better job of scrubbing your floors than a stationary vibrating pad.
The only drawback is that it lacks a second rubber brush for more thorough cleaning, but it's a small cost to pay if want one of the best robots available. The dust tank of the robo-vac is bigger than most of its competitors and filling it takes just two or three cycles, even when you've got a lot of dirt.
For the mopping device, I was impressed with its ability to scrub off hard-to-clean dirt from my floors. Its two mopping modes at the lowest that are less abrasive than the higher-powered ones produce minimal noise, allowing you to work or watch TV without interruption. If it comes into contact with a wall or furniture piece it gently smacks into it and moves read more forward.
What makes the Q Revo apart is that it's designed to run nearly completely on its own, with no need for human intervention. The dock of the robo-vac is multifunctional and automatically transfers garbage into a bin hidden. It also washes, dries and refills the clean water tank. The app will only alert you when something is wrong like low water levels or a cancelled vacuuming session due to an empty bin.
You can also create and combine actual rooms to customize the way that Q Revo will treat your home. This feature is beneficial when you have different flooring in different areas of your home, or when you have to frequently clear out clutter such as clothes, toys, and books. The robot vacuum is also efficient and was among the top performers during my tests, removing debris from both carpets and hardwoods on the first pass. It can also clean up spills that are wet, though I recommend drying them with a cloth before sending the robot in.
3. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni
The X2 Omni has all of the features you'd want from a premium robot vacuum and mop combo and more. It comes with the ability to rotate mops and a powerful vacuum that can clean carpets as well as hard floors. It's similar to the iRobot Roomba S9+. It also has an auto-cleaning station that automatically cleans and empty the mop pads, keeping them fresh and ready for reuse. It also has a new sensor system that is able to better recognizes obstacles, giving it the ability to prevent falling over furniture or other objects.
The biggest improvement over the ECOVACS the X1 Deebot is its sleeker, modern design. This is due to Danish company Jacob Jensen Design, best known for their Bang & Olufsen product line. The robot is still quite large. It measures over two feet in both height and depth, and weighs in at least four pounds. However the robot and its base are smaller than the Roborock Q Revo or iRobot J7.
This version is more efficient than the X1 because it charges more quickly and can clean up 1,500 square feet in a single charge. It also comes with a larger and more robust dust bin that can hold more debris. This makes it easier to empty.
The X2 Omni also has a more intuitive voice assistant and an app that works even when you're at home. It also has a smart routing function that lets it clean specific areas or rooms of your home, instead of following a predetermined path.
The X2 Omni is the top robot at mopping. Its rotating mop pads clean tough stains and its motor produces a lot of downward pressure. Its vacuuming performance is excellent, and it increases suction when it senses carpets to ensure thorough cleaning. It also has a massive battery that can last for weeks between charges and its mopping mode is as effective as the ones we've seen on an ordinary robot.
4. Dreametech L10s Ultra
The Dreametech L10s Ultra is a premium mop and robot vacuum that comes with a variety of convenience features you do not often find on robots of this price. It has the ability to create detailed floor maps, detect various flooring types and is one of the few that can automatically wash and dry the mop pads. Although these features are useful but they also make the L10s Ultra more in the luxury category and could mean it's slightly more expensive than the average homeowner require.
The L10s Ultra looks like a modern floor cleaning machine. It is slim and tall and has a white-colored finish that is complemented by silver elements and mirror plating. The front of the machine is adorned with an impressive bumper that protects the furniture and vacuum cleaner while moving around your home. Sensors are hidden behind the front pane which help the L10s Ultra navigate tight corners and avoid obstacles.
On the top of the vacuum, there is a single button which is used as an on/off switch. The button will activate the vacuum. Clicking it again will shut it off and send it back to its base station. The central control panel is a circular menu that allows you to select cleaning modes as well as schedules and preferences. The left and right buttons will allow you to access the settings in the app, which allow you to customize how the L10s Ultra interacts with your home.
Like the iRobot Roomba S9+ and Roborock Q Revo, the L10s Ultra uses a combination of LIDAR and camera-based navigation technologies to help you map out your home. This creates a precise floor plan that helps the robot vacuum and mop with ease and avoid getting stuck in messy areas. The LIDAR assists the robot vacuum to avoid obstacles and recognize them as obstacles, which is an excellent feature for households with pets or young children.
The L10s Ultra has a solid vacuuming capability that clears 98.4 percent of the debris from our hardwood floor test and taking out all but the most difficult juice stain. The mops also work well, removing 98.4% debris from our carpet, tile and wood tests. However, it wasn't quite as great at tackling sand on the floor or Quaker oats on carpet.
